What is the purpose of the supplement?

The purpose of the supplement announced by the Governor is to support retention of teachers and support staff outlined in the quality basic education (QBE) formula. On January 8, 2024, the Board of Education voted to extend the one-time retention supplement to all HCS employees and critically embedded contracted staff, such as contracted teachers, substitutes, custodians, and school resource officers.
