Henry County Board of Education Approves Appointment of ShayKele Holsey as New Principal of Eagle’s Landing Middle School
HENRY COUNTY, GA – The Henry County Board of Education approved ShayKele Holsey as the new principal of Eagle’s Landing Middle School during its Nov. 11 business meeting.
Holsey previously served as an assistant principal for Eagle’s Landing High School and the district’s Academy for Advanced Studies.
“I am elated about the opportunity to continue serving the Eagle's Landing community,” Holsey said. “I aim to build on and continue advancing the school’s culture of excellence and achievement. My goal is to collaborate with our exceptional staff and stakeholders to provide an enriching educational experience for all students.”
Holsey has devoted most of her 24 years as an educator to helping middle school students develop a solid academic foundation while nurturing their developmental needs and social skills.
Her background in education spans various roles across middle and high school settings, including serving as a math teacher, instructional coach, digital learning administrator, and interim principal.
In almost nine years as a school administrator, Holsey has earned a reputation for her strategic focus, teacher and student advocacy, and transparent approach to leadership. Her successes encompass notable increases in student attendance and academic performance.

Holsey holds a Bachelor of Science in middle grades education from Georgia College and State University, as well as a Master of Arts in instruction and an Education Specialist degree in administration and supervision, both from Central Michigan University.
“Ms. Holsey’s strong leadership skills, passion for education, and extensive background as an educator will ensure a positive and supportive learning environment for our Eagle’s Landing Middle School students,” said Assistant Superintendent Kevin Van Tone. “We are pleased to announce her appointment and look forward to the positive impact she will have on this school community.”
Holsey takes pride in being an accessible leader and cultivating a positive school culture where teachers and students feel supported and motivated. Her leadership style and passion for molding young minds have enabled her to effectively meet the diverse needs of students, staff, and parents.
“I believe in fostering a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrates student success in all areas, promotes positive citizenship, and values every individual's unique talents and contributions,” Holsey added.
She will begin her tenure as principal of Eagle’s Landing Middle School on Dec. 2.
