Henry County Board of Education Approves Appointment of Michelle Williams as New Principal of Hampton Elementary School

HENRY COUNTY, GA – The Henry County Board of Education approved Michelle Williams as the new principal of Hampton Elementary School during the board’s Sept. 9 business meeting.

“My vision for Hampton Elementary School is to be the school every teacher wants to be a part of and every parent wants their child to attend,” Williams said. “I want all our students to wake up every morning excited to attend school.”

Williams has devoted her entire 25-year career in education to empowering young minds at the elementary level. She joined Henry County Schools in 2002, teaching first, fourth, and fifth grades before becoming an assistant principal at Rocky Creek Elementary in 2019.

She has served as an assistant principal at Hampton Elementary School since 2021.

“Mrs. Williams will continue to strengthen the core business of student learning by engaging her community in her new role as principal of Hampton Elementary School,” said Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership Dr. Joycelyn Jackson. “Her exemplary service as an educator and dedication to student success make her a true asset, and we are pleased to have her at the helm, ensuring a supportive, nurturing, and rewarding environment for our young learners.”

Williams has demonstrated a commitment to student well-being through her dedication to continuous improvement. From obtaining leadership credentials to seeking out professional development opportunities and participating in school safety training, she has made nurturing school leadership excellence the hallmark of her career.

Additionally, Williams values opportunities to collaborate with school, district, and community partners to enhance student learning. Her passion for creating opportunities for student and teacher success is reflected in her active involvement in various school-, county- and state-level organizations.

“I will foster a culture in which students have access to an academically rich environment, where we monitor student progress, provide academic support, celebrate success, and build relationships so every child feels trusted and supported by caring adults,” Williams added.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education from Valdosta State University, a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from the University of Phoenix, and an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from Columbus State University.

“We are proud to have Mrs. Williams on our team of exceptional leaders here at Henry County Schools,” said Superintendent Dr. John Pace III. “Her passion for educating young learners will help ensure our students receive the foundational tools that will set them up for success as they progress through Henry County Schools as well as later in life.”

Williams officially began her tenure as principal of Hampton Elementary School on Sept. 10.
