Henry County Board of Education Approves Appointment of Cheré Lewis as New Principal of Eagle’s Landing High School
HENRY COUNTY, GA – The Henry County Board of Education approved Cheré Lewis as the new principal of Eagle’s Landing High School during its June 10 business meeting.
“I am honored that I get the opportunity to serve a community that values education and understands the importance of providing a world-class educational experience for all students,” Lewis said. “I look forward to building relationships with the faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community.”
Lewis brings a wealth of expertise as an educator and a proven track record in educational leadership to her new role. Her two decades of experience in public education include significant classroom accomplishments that contributed to her being named a district Teacher of the Year, as well as demonstrated administrative strengths in school operations management, staff development, and school improvement planning.
“We are pleased to have Ms. Lewis join the Henry County Schools team and Eagle’s Landing High School,” said Assistant Superintendent for School Leadership Kevin Van Tone. “Her experience and accomplishments will allow her to come in and work alongside the Eagle’s Landing community to continue the standard of excellence established at the high school.”
Lewis holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Georgia College and State University, Master of Science in postsecondary education from Troy University, and Education Specialist in educational leadership from Cambridge College.
Her background in education also includes serving six years as an assistant principal and six years as a principal, underscoring her dedication to being well-rounded and knowledgeable in educational administration.
“Mrs. Lewis’ appointment reflects our commitment to hiring experienced and capable leaders in Henry County Schools,” said Interim Superintendent Dr. Carl Knowlton. “Her guidance will be instrumental in fostering a positive learning environment for all students and advancing the school’s mission of ‘educating each for the benefit of all.’”
Lewis will officially start on July 1 as she prepares to lead Eagle’s Landing High School into the 2024-2025 school year, which begins Aug. 1.
