Henry County Public Schools Foundation Announces Second Annual ‘Stuff the Bus’ Campaign

HENRY COUNTY, GA – The Henry County Public Schools Foundation (HCPSF) will celebrate its second annual Stuff the Bus campaign on July 11 to collect school supplies and resources for teachers and their students.

The Stuff the Bus initiative helps alleviate the financial burden on teachers, who often pay out of pocket for classroom supplies. Donations from the community ensure teachers and students have the basics for the first day of school on Monday, Aug. 3.

The drive is also a crucial means of enhancing the classroom experience and promoting equity with high-quality supplies across all schools.

“Teachers work tirelessly to create engaging learning experiences for students, often at a personal cost,” said Henry County Public Schools Foundation Board of Trustees President Holly Cobb. “The Stuff the Bus campaign is a powerful display of teamwork in educating our children. It is heartwarming to see that connection between the community and our classrooms.”

Donated supplies will initially be distributed to new teachers during the district’s annual Orientation for New Educators (O.N.E.) event July 16-17.

Interested community members may access an Amazon wish list for the supply drive. Examples of items in need include storage containers, crafting supplies, carpet squares, and classroom decorations.

Volunteers will collect donated school supplies to fill buses at the following Henry County locations on July 11, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.:

• Locust Grove City Hall, 3644 Hwy. 42 in Locust Grove
• Glen Haven Church, 345 East Lake Road in McDonough
• Eagle’s Landing Country Club, 100 Eagle’s Landing Way in Stockbridge
• Stockbridge Community Church, 4401 Hwy. 155 North in Stockbridge

“Ensuring every Henry County Schools teacher has the tools for instruction is fundamental to our vision to ensure a high-quality, world-class education for every student,” said Superintendent Dr. John Pace III. “This exciting initiative celebrates our commitment to engaging and partnering with the Henry County community in support of our students.”

HCPSF is also seeking volunteers during the week of July 13 to help unload buses, sort and organize supplies, and prepare for distribution.

Sponsors of this year’s event include Bank of Dudley, Beau Kelley Realty, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Eagle’s Landing Country Club, Eagle’s Landing Property Owners, ESS, F&F Floor Covering and Carpet, The Flourish Society, Georgia Power, Piedmont Henry, Southern Grace Hospice, and VyStar Credit Union.

The foundation offers levels of corporate sponsorship, ranging from $1,000 to $25,000, for the Stuff the Bus campaign. Sponsorship opportunities include signage at drop-off locations and the supply delivery site; promotional tables at teacher orientation; logo placement on campaign materials; and recognition in print materials, press releases, social media posts, and at orientation.
