Henry County Board of Education Chair Sophe Pope provides an update to the community during the May 13, 2024, Study Session of the BOE regarding the closing of both the application window and community input survey as the board proceeds with the search process for the new Superintendent of Henry County School District.

Thank you so much, Dr. Knowlton. We will now move onto our Board Member Items, and I will give a very brief update on our superintendent search.

The application window closed last night, just before midnight, and following that, this evening the window for the community input survey will close. So, if you haven’t had an opportunity to give us your input on this process, we invite you to do so this evening.

We will be hearing in the next couple of days from Georgia School Boards Association with how many applicants there were, and then they will advise us on the next steps.

We will continue to keep you informed every step of the way. We are excited and hopeful to continue the great work that this governance team and this incredible school system is doing now.
