Hello! I am Mrs. Cosby, the Instructional Effectiveness Facilitator for Fairview Elementary school. In short, that means my role is to provide instructional support to school staff through classroom observations, data analysis, modeling, coaching, and feedback. In addition, I assist the principal and school leadership with the implementation and evaluation of the continuous improvement process. I help to connect program goals and CSIPs to the district vision and strategic direction. Additionally, I coordinate and facilitate professional development and provide coaching support related to highly effective instruction, including literacy, student agency, goal-setting, learning engagement strategies, and academic acceleration. I serve as a mentor for students under our school's PBIS Check in/Check out initiative to help students manage their behavior. Additionally, I serve as a mentor within the district's H.E.A.R.T. mentoring program for new teachers. I also serve as the Arts Integration Lead Teacher for Fairview. We are integrating the arts to enhance learning and instruction. I am a proud graduate of Howard University. Go Bison! I completed my master's in education at the University of Phoenix and recently completed my specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Thomas University. I am a lifelong learner and active tennis player, wife, and mother of two. In my spare time, I volunteer in my community and serve as an active member of the USTA Southern Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. My goal is to help teachers grow and improve student learning in the most effective way possible! I am looking forward to an amazing year!
