    Thank you for visiting my web page.  Please browse the site for information about the Academy for Advanced Studies Construction Pathway as well as myself as instructor for the Construction Pathway.

    Born and raised in South Metro Atlanta,  I graduated M.D. Collins High School in College Park in 1980.  I traveled to Tifton, Georgia to attend ABAC (Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College) where I received my Associates Degree in Business Administration.  I transferred to the University of Georgia in 1982.  I received my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in June of 1984 with a major in Banking and Finance.  I entered the work force full time in November of 1984 as a residential Mortgage Banker.  I worked in the Mortgage Banking industry from 1984 until October of 2010;  during that time I worked as a loan officer, underwriter, processor, secondary marketing manager, branch manager, production manager, and operations manager.   As a side line in 1989 I opened Southern Craft Homes, a residential construction company.  From 1989 through 2002 Southern Craft Homes built some 200 homes mostly in Henry County;  In November of 2010 I went full time in construction as a job superintendent with GT Restoration, a Henry County-based general contractor.  I have always wanted to move into the classroom, so when the opportunity presented itself at the Academy in the fall of 2014 I accepted the position here.

    I have also coached/ instructed college-bound baseball players for over 26 years, and was a coach, then Head Coach at Henry County High School for 7 seasons.

    I have three wonderful children (or young adults) ages 34, 33, and 27;  My oldest son (HCHS 2007) is a design engineer for a granite counter top company;  my daughter (Ola High School 2009) is an NCO, Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Shafter in Hawaii, and my youngest son is currently in flight school training to become an airline Pilot.  I have two granddaughters, Elizabeth 9 and Kinsleigh, 6, Dooley, who live in Hawaii with their mom and dad.

    While in the Construction Pathway all students are strongly encouraged to join and participate in our SKILLSUSA Chapter at the Academy;
