    Mission 

    The mission of the Luella High School Tennis Program is to provide an opportunity for students to learn a lifelong sport,  practice good sportsmanship, and excel as both student and athlete. Our focus will alwauys be team first in order to instill a sense of comradory and unity. We will work to develop a mindset of competitive excellence which will be exemplified on the Tennis Court and in the Class Room. 

     

    Tennis Information

    Welcome to the 2023-24 Tennis Season!
    Tryouts will begin in Mid December 2023. A Physical must be current  before you are allowed to try out.   
     
     
    Challenge Matches
    Players may challenge up to two positions above their current line
    Between challenge match days, adjustments to the line up may be made at the coaches’ discretion, based on extenuating circumstances not player ability.
     
    For the challenge to be recognized, the coaches must be notified 48 hours (2 days) prior to the match occurs. Notification can be made in writing in person or via email. At least one coach must be present for the entirety of the match. Matches will begin promptly at 3:45.
     
    If the person challenged does not report to the courts at the specified time and date, they forfeit their line and drop to the line occupied by the challenger
    The player challenging the higher seeded player can only challenge that higher seeded player one time per calendar week
    Challenge match will be played as an 8 Game Pro Set with ad. If necessary, a tiebreaker will be played as per USTA rules
    Challenger will provide a can of new, unopened tennis balls for the challenge match
