• Summer Reading

This summer the LGE media center is having a summer reading challenge for students.

All you have to do is read a minimum of 10 hours (600 minutes) over the summer.  Log the time you spend reading on this form.

This challenge is open to all rising 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.  We will be hosting a celebration when we return to school for the 24-25 school year.

Students can read print books and also digital books from SORA.

Directions for using SORA is on our LGE media center webpage. Students need to enter through the Launchpad.

Thanks for your support of reading!

How do I read for 10 hours?  That sounds like a long time!--(you might ask)

Summer break is 8 weeks.  That’s 5 days a week (if you take off the weekends) times 8 = 40 days.  If you read for 30 minutes a day for 20 days, that is how you do it!

Or...20 minutes a day for 30 days.  The total time you need is 600 minutes (10 hours).

    You can do it!!
