Young Men of Distinction


    Woodland Elementary School

    The mission of Young Men of Distinction is to enhance self-esteem, character development, and promote fellowship. The goal is to provide a motivational support group for young men as they successfully transition into middle school. After fully participating in YMOD, they will demonstrate leadership skills, increased awareness of post secondary education opportunities, and participate in community service projects. The vision of the Young Men of Distinction is to inspire young men to become successful leaders.

    • Middle School Transition

    • College and Career Readiness


    • Students will attend one (1) monthly meeting. 

    • Students will participate in community service projects. 

    • Students will participate in fundraising activities to support ongoing programs.  

    • Students will participate in discussion of age-appropriate current events. 

    • Students will participate in a book study with provided reading materials. 

    • Students will participate in an end of year activity.

    Meetings are after school from 2:50 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Students must be picked up no later than 3:50 p.m.
