Asynchronous Learning Days

Asynchronous Learning Days provide students with meaningful, self-paced learning experiences from home. On these days, students work independently from home on assignments, access online instructional content, and engage in family-based learning activities.

Simultaneously, these days offer our dedicated teachers valuable time for professional development and collaborative planning, which in turn enhances the learning experience for all students.

During the 2025-2026 school year, all HCS students will engage in a full day of asynchronous learning at home on:

  • Friday, October 10, 2025
  • Friday, March 13, 2026

Students can find all assignments and resources for the day on the main Asynchronous Learning Day website. The assignments and activities can be accessed on this site on your child’s district-issued Chromebook or any internet-connected device through the ClassLink launchpad.

How It Works: Student Assignments

Grades Pre-K through 8th Grade

  1. Click on your student’s grade level.
  2. Using the Activity Choice Board, your student should choose and complete one assignment per content area.
  3. Students can complete additional assignments from the choice board if they wish, but only one per subject is required.

Additional Activities: Students are encouraged to read for at least 20 minutes and log their reading in Beanstack for the Henry Reads Challenge. Also, check out optional activities in the areas of "Connect," "Create," and "Move."

High School Students

  1. First, check for and complete any teacher-assigned tasks for the day.
  2. If no specific task is assigned, select a course you are currently enrolled in from the provided resources.
  3. Using the modules in the course, complete the lessons to review current standards and topics.

Additional Activities: Students are encouraged to read for at least 20 minutes and log their reading in Beanstack. Also, check out optional activities in the areas of "Read," "College & Career Readiness," and "Community Service."
