District Advisory Council

Purpose

Henry County Schools' Work-Based Learning District Advisory Council aims to enhance CTAE programs by offering valuable insights and recommendations for curriculum development and district-wide initiatives. Additionally, the Council helps raise awareness and foster greater community involvement in CTAE programs. 

Objectives

The Advisory Council collaborates with the CTAE department to:

  • Facilitate seamless transitions for students from high school to post-secondary education and the workforce
  • Identify skills and industry trends 
  • Improve employers’ access to a well-prepared workforce
  • Increase the availability of work-based learning opportunities for students
  • Increase externship opportunities for teachers
  • Boost the number of CTAE programs achieving industry certification

Members

The Advisory Council consists of representatives from business and industry, secondary and post-secondary education, parents, community organizations, and school and district staff.

Meetings

The Advisory Council meets at least four times during the school year, twice each semester.
