Gender Equity in Sports
It is the policy of the Henry County Board of Education to prohibit discrimination based on gender in its secondary school athletic programs. HCS Board Policy IDFA: Gender Equity in Sports Policy was approved by the board on October 14, 2013.
Special Olympics Accreditation

Henry County Schools is proud to announce that the district has officially regained its Special Olympics Accreditation, marking an important milestone after six years. This achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the HCS Athletics Department and the HCS Special Services & Educational Support Department, reflecting our shared commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for all students.
Special Olympics accreditation recognizes school districts that demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion, leadership, and meaningful participation opportunities for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities through sports, leadership activities, and school-wide engagement. This accomplishment represents Henry County Schools’ dedication to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to compete, connect, and succeed.
As we continue building inclusive athletic and leadership opportunities across our district, we look forward to launching our upcoming Special Olympics events and celebrating the impact these experiences will have on our students, schools, and community. Henry County Schools remains committed to empowering all students and creating a culture where everyone belongs, participates, and thrives.
