Volunteer Organizations: Booster Clubs & PTO

Henry County Board of Education adopted policy LEC to support schools in regard to Booster Clubs and volunteer organization. There are also two regulations: LEC-R(1) was established to create processes for volunteer organizations to follow, and LEC-R(2) was newly adopted to create accountability systems for organizations to follow. The purpose of the policy and regulations is to ensure volunteer organizations’ main objective is to support schools, while also being aware of district financial policies and obligations.

As part of LEC-R(2), volunteer organizations are required to establish a board composed of a president, vice president, and secretary/treasurer or a separate secretary and treasurer. The board is required to follow certain steps, which may be viewed within the regulations. As part of the required steps, volunteer organization officers are to receive training. We have created an informational virtual training session that will serve as this training.
