Strategic Plan

The Henry County Board of Education has adopted and is now implementing its 2026-2031 Community-Inspired Strategic Plan that builds upon the district's established vision, mission, and core beliefs and policies to further advance community-identified goal areas and drive the collective work of the district and schools together in the spirit of continuous improvement.

Core Beliefs

The Board of Education believes…

  1. All children can learn at or above grade level and will have an equal opportunity to do so.
  2. Family and community involvement is critical to student success.
  3. All learning environments will be supportive safe and secure.
  4. Effective teachers, leaders, and employees produce excellent results. 

Goal Areas and Performance Objectives

Goal Area #1: To further our goals related to Student Achievement and Readiness, we will:

  • Increase literacy across all grades
  • Increase mastery of standards in all content areas
  • Advance access and outcomes in college, career, and life readiness opportunities

Goal Area #2: To further our goals related to Organizational and Operational Effectiveness, we will:

  • Sustain a high-performing and efficient operational culture
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility and accountability

Goal Area #3: To further our goals related to Culture, Climate, and Community Engagement, we will:

  • Strengthen opportunities for everyone to feel safe, welcomed, valued, and supported
  • Increase positive communications and connections among students, employees, families, and the community
  • Advance student and employee health, wellness, and support
