JB Henderson Center

The J.B. Henderson Center supports Henry County Schools students through the Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Support (GNETS). GNETS provides educational and therapeutic services for eligible students whose behavioral and emotional needs require additional support beyond what is available in the traditional school setting.

The goal of the J.B. Henderson Center is to help students develop the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skills needed to be successful in school. Services are provided in partnership with the student’s home school, families, and support teams.

J.B. Henderson is not a full-time enrollment option. Students remain connected to their home school while receiving support through the GNETS program, as determined by the appropriate educational team.

Rodney Mallory began his tenure as Site Suprvisor of the J.B. Henderson Center in late September. He most recently served as the Center’s site supervisor and was also a counselor. He brings more than 30 years of experience in education, leadership, and mental health services to his role as administrator.

Mallory seeks to continue the important work of supporting some of the most resilient and remarkable students in Henry County. His goal is to strengthen relationships, restore hope, and empower both staff and students to see their full potential. He embraces his appointment as a continued commitment to creating safe, compassionate, and transformative learning environments.

Mallory’s background spans K-12 and higher education settings, where he served as a teacher and school counselor and held leadership roles, including assistant principal and principal.

He brings a wealth of teaching, counseling, and school leadership experience to his role as administrator at J.B. Henderson, as well as expertise in supporting students from diverse backgrounds and with varying needs. He is committed to ensuring all students learn at or above grade level, while prioritizing the well-being of both students and staff.

Mallory holds a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education from Grambling State University, as well as a Master of Education in school counseling and a Master of Education in educational leadership, both from the University of West Georgia.

He has completed extensive training in restorative practices, trauma-informed classroom management, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and the MindSet de-escalation program for crisis management.

Mallory specializes in social-emotional leadership and is also a certified anger management therapist with experience providing wraparound services for at-risk students and families. He takes pride in connecting with students and staff through curiosity, compassion, and consistency—values he believes transform schools and lives.
