Mrs. Jennifer Carter (District 3)

Mrs. Jennifer Carter, a native of Henry County, graduated from Henry County High School in 1998. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Kennesaw State University, she returned to Henry County to work with her family.

Carter is deeply committed to the community, serving in various capacities with her church and several local schools and organizations. She has served as a school council member at both Timber Ridge Elementary School and Union Grove Middle School.

Carter also serves on several boards, including A Friend’s House, Gigi’s House, and Advancing Georgia’s Leaders in Agriculture and Forestry at the University of Georgia.

She became a Henry County Board of Education member in January 2025.

Her involvement in public education in Henry County began with a desire to be involved in her children’s education. That immersion cultivated a passion for advancing learning opportunities for children across the county.

As a member of the Henry County Board of Education, Carter is committed to collaborating with fellow board members and the superintendent to deliver purposeful advocacy for Henry County Schools families and the community.

Besides key responsibilities involving governance and oversight, Carter’s areas of interest include ensuring teachers have the necessary means to succeed and thrive, advocating for the Exceptional Student Education program, upholding stewardship of resources and finances, and streamlining enrollment and attendance policies.

Carter and her husband, Jake, are the proud parents of three children, Karson, Kennedy Ann, and Coan.
