Dr. Pam Nutt - District 1

Dr. Pam Nutt is the longest-serving member of the Henry County Board of Education. Her tenure spans 24 years on the board. She is a native of Henry County and graduated from Henry County High School in 1977. She holds a bachelor's degree and a doctorate from Mercer University, while also holding a master's degree from Georgia College and State University and a specialist degree from the University of West Georgia. She is a veteran educator having served 27 years in the classroom both as a media specialist, science teacher, and special needs teacher.

Mrs. Annette Edwards, Vice Chair - District 2

Vice Chair Annette Edwards is a retired educator serving the constituents of District 2 on the Henry County Board of Education. Her experience of over 30 years in the classroom provides her with a unique perspective to serve the students and families in the northern section of the county. Originally from Hollywood, Florida, Edwards earned a bachelor's degree from Florida Memorial College, a master's degree from Nova University, and a specialist degree from Clark Atlanta University.
Mrs. Jennifer Carter - District 3

Mrs. Jennifer Carter, a native of Henry County, graduated from Henry County High School in 1998. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in exercise science from Kennesaw State University, she returned to Henry County to work with her family. Carter is deeply committed to the community, serving in various capacities with her church and several local schools and organizations. She has served as a school council member at both Timber Ridge Elementary School and Union Grove Middle School.
Mrs. Sophe Pope, Chair - District 4
Chair Sophe Pope is a native of Henry County and a 2005 graduate of Union Grove High School. After obtaining her post-secondary degrees, Pope returned to her high school alma mater to teach Spanish. Upon the arrival of her first daughter, Pope made the switch to being a full-time mom. She also used this time to volunteer and lead the children's ministries at McDonough Presbyterian Church. Pope's familiarity with public education and a desire to support children and the community were key factors in her decision to run for a seat on the school board. A blend of passion and experience is what she uses to serve her constituents.

Makenzie McDaniel - District 5

Makenzie McDaniel was born and raised in DeKalb County. He is a 2003 graduate of Chamblee High School. Upon graduating from high school, Mr. McDaniel honorably served 12 years in the Army Reserve achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his time in the Armed Forces, Mr. McDaniel deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. While serving in the military, Mr. McDaniel served as a DeKalb County police officer for 8 years achieving the rank of Master Police Officer. He is an ordained Elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and pastors the Trinity CME Church, Gainesville, GA.

Dr. John Pace, III
Dr. John Pace, III, was appointed Superintendent of Henry County School District, effective September 3, 2024. His appointment follows a long and successful tenure at Miami-Dade County Public Schools in Florida, where he most recently served as Deputy Superintendent. Dr. Pace brings a proven track record of collaboration toward high-impact instructional leadership, creating safe and secure learning environments, providing professional development for teachers and leaders, promoting fiscal responsibility, and building positive relationships with community groups.
