Miss Valentine
I am a native of Costa Rica, moved to Panama as a toddler, but have resided in Georgia since the age of eight. I was educated in Muscogee and Cobb counties and completed my education in Athens at the University of Georgia.
I have taught elementary (Spanish & ESOL) , middle (Spanish), and high school (Spanish) over the past twenty-four years. This scholastic year begins my seventeenth year at ELHS.
Here are some fun facts about me:
1. I love all animals -- I'm not at all fond of reptiles or amphibians -- so because of that I'm a proud pet parent. I have a beautiful Pomeranian/Shih Tzu mix who is my world (see photo)!
2. I have a respectful fear of bodies of water so you won't catch me near ponds, creeks, lakes, seas or oceans much (if ever).
3. I love to decorate and organize. I really value neatness and cleanliness! It's something that I like to do because I like pretty things but I don't do it for a living (yet). It might be what I do after retirement.
Finally, I want my students and parents to know that I am very passionate about teaching others about my first language and the culture associated with it. My hope is that each child has a great experience in class and develops a deep appreciation and healthy respect for the Hispanic communities of the world!
