Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Dori Stanton

I would like to tell you a little about myself.  I graduated from college in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL.  They are the fighting owls and that is where my love of owls began.  I started teaching that next year in 1993 at Westchester Elementary in Coral Springs, FL.  I taught first and second grade there for thirteen years.  We truly got tired of the hustle and bustle of big city living so in 2006 my family and I relocated to McDonough, GA.  My first year in McDonough I was hired at Wesley Lakes Elementary and then was displaced that same year.  I was then placed in Ola Elementary where I have been teaching ever since.  The Ola family is wonderful and I would not want to teach anywhere else.  In 2009 I obtained my Master's Degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy and thoroughly enjoy the teaching field.

I have been married to my husband Jim since 1995 and we have three children.  One son Jimmy, and twin daughters Lani and Laci.  They keep me very busy and I would not have it any other way.

I am a warm and loving teacher who nurtures my students to be the best they can be.  I have an open door policy and love to meet with and talk to my students and their parents as much as possible.  My e-mail address is DStanton@henry.k12.ga.us and the school phone number is 770-957-5777.  Please do not hesitate in contacting me.
