    Mrs. Danielle Whitworth

Greetings! My name is Danielle Whitworth and I am a teacher of exceptional students here at Hampton High School. I work with a population of learners that may have autism, cognitive disabilities, are deaf and physical disabilities in a self-contained setting. I am originally from Philadelphia, PA.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and criminology and completed RN course work from University of South Carolina and was a member of the PI Gamma Mu national honors society and graduated Cum Laude. My Master's Degree was completed at Holy Family University in Philadelphia, PA, where I received my degree in Elementary education as well as special education with a focus on behavior modification. I have taught in the elementary, middle and high school setting as well as an institutional setting. This is my 12th year of teaching students with special needs.  I enjoy spending time with my students and family. I truly enjoy every single day here! GO HORNETS!!

My teaching philosophy is based on respecting differences, tapping into talents, and sharing my love for learning with my students. I believe we all have something to contribute and I learn so much from my students each day. I use a multi-sensory, theme based instruction in the classroom and believe in a consistent, positive and respectful approach to making lasting, meaningful relationships and behavior changes.
