LADY EAGLES COACHING STAFF
Coach Karshaun Peterson
Coach Karshaun Peterson is entering his 23nd year of teaching and coaching. This is his 8th year of teaching and coaching at Eagle’s Landing High School. The Lady Eagles have won the Region Championship the past four years in a row (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) and finished Region Runner-Up the past two seasons (2021, 2022). The girl's basketball team has also participated in the GHSA State Basketball Tournament, competing in the Sweet 16 five years in a row (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), Elite 8 four years in a row (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) and also reaching the GHSA Final 4 for the first time in school history (2020). Before coaching at Eagle’s Landing High School, Peterson was a teacher/ coach for 12 years at Cedar Grove High School, serving three years as the Head Boys Basketball Coach and Head Women’s Basketball Coach for six years. Peterson also served three years as Boys J.V. Basketball Coach. Prior to that, Coach Peterson served two years as J.V. and Assistant boys’ basketball coach at Towers H.S. Coach Peterson spent his first year of teaching/ coaching at J.Z. George H.S. in Carrollton, MS, serving as the Head Boys Basketball Coach helping to finish with the school best record in the past 15 years while coaching there.
Coach Peterson is a 1993 graduate of Broad Street High School in Shelby, Ms. He received honors of All-District, All-County, and All-State. He was selected to play in the Mississippi North/ South All-Star Game his senior year in high school and selected as an honorable mention to the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Team. Coach Peterson went on to play college basketball at Alcorn State University with his twin brother, Karshae Peterson. Coach Peterson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications (1997) and his Master of Education degree in Sport and Athletic Management from Northcentral University (2019).
Coach Karshaun Peterson is married to Toni Peterson and they have one child; Nicholas Peterson. Peterson comes from a coaching family in which all of his siblings are high school/ college basketball coaches. He is the son of the legendary Mississippi high school basketball coach, Coach Isaiah and Barbara Peterson. Coach Isaiah Peterson compiled over 900 wins with three state championships during his long-lasting career. Coach Peterson is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi, Incorporated.
Coach Charmien Martin
As a former alumni of Eagle’s Landing High School, Coach Charmien Martin returned to help coach the girls’ basketball team in 2012. Before coaching at Eagle’s Landing, Coach Martin assisted her father at Cedar Grove High School.
Coach Martin was a 2005 graduate of Eagle’s Landing High School. During her high school career, she played basketball all four years. She served as a captain of the team and was nominated as athlete of the week on several occasions. After high school, Coach Martin attended Georgia State University for her undergraduate degree, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. She went on to pursue a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. Currently, Coach Martin is employed with Kindred at Home as a home health specialist, where she has worked for the past six years.
Coach Martin is the daughter of James and Renee Martin who both reside in Stockbridge, GA. Her passion for coaching is deep-rooted (since birth) as her father has won several state championships and made several state playoff appearances. She has three little girls, Skylar, Sydney and whom she hopes will continue the family coaching legacy. Coach Martin is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and a lifetime Clemson Tiger football fan!"Sometimes, to get what you want the most, you have to do what you want the least"
