Your child should stay home from school only if necessary. The main reasons for your child to stay home are:
- if he might be contagious to others
- if he is too sick to be comfortable at school or to concentrate
As a rule, a child should not come to school if there is:
- vomiting more than once in the past 24 hours
- a fever of 100.4 or greater in the past 24 hours
- diarrhea
- a widespread rash
- persistent pain
- very frequent cough
A child with fever or vomiting should be free of symptoms for 24 hours before returning to school. Any time your child is absent, checks in late, or checks out early please send in a written excuse the day they return explaining the absence or tardy.
See the Student Handbook page 35.
Do Not Send Medication to School with your child. If your child needs medication at school you need to bring it into the office.
