Woodland Warriors
The Woodland Warriors are a Special Needs Flag Football Team and Cheerleading program established in 2007. You do not have to have any prior knowleadge of football or cheerleading.This year the teams will have Monday night games under the lights with cheerleaders, high school bands, referees, run-throughs, touchdown celebration like you would not believe, concession stands, football uniforms, media coverage, an awards ceremony, and hundreds of fans! There are also five teams, the Union Grove Gladiators, Woodland Warriors, Jackson Jets, Rockdale Force, Ola Mustangs, and Stockbridge Tigers.Our league is now established through Special Olympics and we attend Summer Games. In Summer games 2015, the Woodland Warriors strived hard for their gold medals.If you know of an athlete interested in participating please contact Cindy Mathis cindy.mathis@henry.k12.ga.us or Tiffany Price at tiffany.price@henry.k12.ga.us or (770) 389-2784. Athletes with exceptionalities between the ages of 12 to 22 qualify to participate. Also, if you are interested in volunteering for the Warriors or sponsoring this nonprofit special needs team, please contact Cindy Mathis or Tiffany Price.Mission: To provide children with disabilities in our community the opportunity to experience the game of football, where the opportunity does not currently exist. This is the first program of its kind designed to help these children reach their dreams of participating in organized football and cheerleading.Objective: To Create and environment where the focus is on teamwork, while at the same time allowing a child to experience a thrill and camaraderie that the game of football provides.
