Welcome Superheroes!
Dear Parents/Guardians,
My name is Laila Khan. My academic qualifications include an Education Specialist Degree (EDS) in Reading, Literacy, and Assessment from Walden University and a Master of Education degree from Thomas University. Additionally, I hold an Early Childhood Special Education/General Curriculum Certification through Mercer and Gifted Endorsement through Griffin RESA. I am also certified to teach in Montessori schools.
I've worked at ABC Montessori School in McDonough, Counterpane Montessori School in Fayetteville, Walnut Creek Elementary School in McDonough, and Pleasant Grove Elementary School in Stockbridge. Collectively, I have sixteen years of experience in the teaching field. Teaching is my passion, and I thoroughly enjoy working with children.
I am proud to say that I have accomplished many goals and fulfilled school expectations at each school. I served as a kindergarten and first-grade grade chair and was "Teacher of the Year" for the 2016 – 2017 school year.
I have worked in different capacities and look forward to teaching second grade this year at East Lake. As an educator, my goal is to make a positive contribution. I believe each child can learn when provided with the right tools and environment.
I am enthusiastic about serving your child's educational needs. I will make their second-grade learning experience fun and engaging in the classroom. I am confident that each child will be successful and become a lifelong learner. I plan many learning activities to help them adapt to the new classroom setting.
If you have questions about your child's learning, please contact me at laila.khan@henry.k12.ga.us or through the office phone at 678-583-8947. I am here for you and your child and look forward to meeting you and answering any questions.
We will all have a fantastic year, and welcome to East Lake Elementary!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Khan
