Is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish. Formally organized as the Spanish National Honor Society in 1953, the name was changed in 1959. At present there are over 2,000 national and international chapters.

The purpose of this honor society is to increase understanding of the Spanish language and culture.  We offer opportunities for students to communicate in Spanish in real life situations and interact with native speakers while serving the school and the community.  In order to become a member of our National Spanish Honors Society, the student must meet the following requirements:
    • Be currently registered in a Spanish class (Honors level two, three or higher).
    • Nominations will be received on a preliminary basis for all students with a 90 % cumulative average from completing two levels of Spanish.
    • Must participate in all community service projects and fundraisers that are organized by the society.
    • Speak in Spanish at all monthly meetings. Meetings are held on the second  Tuesday of each month at 3:20 pm in room 123.
