Greetings Woodland Elementary families and community!

I am honored and humbled to join the Woodland community as one of the new Assistant Principals for the 2023-2024 school year.  This is my 22nd year in education, and I have been given the incredible opportunity to teach, facilitate, mentor, coach, and most importantly, learn from aWESome leaders.

I spent a combined twenty years as an educator in Dougherty County, DeKalb County, and Atlanta Public Schools where I served as a classroom teacher, teacher leader, district professional development facilitator, MTSS specialist, and instructional coach.  The culmination of my professional experiences has allowed me to embark upon my most rewarding experience in education thus far- being named Assistant Principal of Woodland Elementary School.

I am most passionate about equity and intentional learning opportunities for all students.  I love building and fostering new relationships with every person in our building.  I enjoy having conversations with our students and challenging them to learn more.  I am a firm believer in treating everyone with dignity and respect because it is the right thing to do. I believe in connections and building trust.   Every person adds value and brings a unique purpose to our family.  We are truly better together!

I am elephant elated, hippopotamus happy, and peacock proud to serve alongside our school family as your Assistant Principal and servant leader to affect positive change in our students and our community.

We will have an aWESome year at Woodland Elementary! Please feel free to reach out to me via email @ kimberly.jones@henry.k12.ga.us.
