    OHS picStudent Outcomes
We are very proud of our students. Each year, we have students accomplish great things in their academic and extracurricular pursuits. Ola High School has won state championships in Golf, Wrestling, Competition Cheer, Softball and more, in addition to consistent representation at regional levels of competition. We routinely have students selected to represent Ola High School at the highly distinguished Governor’s Honors Program each summer at Berry College. Students within our AP program have had continued success with students scoring a 3 or higher on nearly 60% of AP exams over the past five years. We also have had 317 students earn the coveted designation of AP Scholar by the College Board. The graduation rate at Ola High School consistently exceeds the state and district averages because of the commitment of our faculty, staff, and community to prepare students for life beyond high school.
““Being on the OHS Swim Team gives me a sense of pride because Ola has a history of winning. We have won the County Championship six years in a row. When I swim for Ola, I am swimming for a tradition of success.” Anita Lucas, senior at Ola High School

    OHS picStudent Opportunities
In addition to the numerous sports, clubs, and activities, Ola High School has a variety of offerings to suit the academic interests of our students. We have a number of wide-ranging CTAE Pathways from Agriculture to Marketing. Many of our programs also offer competitive extracurricular opportunities for students so that they can extend their learning outside of the classroom. Fine Arts is also an area in which Ola High School students thrive. We offer orchestra, photography, theatre, and more. This department also provides extracurricular pursuits to extend learning with Marching Band, musicals, choir, and more. Ola High School offers many AP and Honors courses. Our AP program can lay claim to many credits earned for the collegiate level by high school students. The academic landscape at OHS is designed to suit the needs of all students and help their success bloom to its fullest potential.
“Over half of our Mustangs take advantage of advanced coursework. Therefore, we are able to offer a multitude of advanced courses, making Ola High School’s AP course offerings the most numerous and diverse in Henry County Schools.” Stacey Caldwell, AP Coordinator

    OHS picClimate and Culture
Ola is a unique community in Henry County. We bolster a tight-knit group of support composed of parents, students, teachers, and members of the community. Pride is the epicenter of Ola High School and you will often hear “We Are Ola” echoing through our building and stadium. When you are a part of Ola, you are a part of something great, something special, and something meaningful. We celebrate our students and teachers with the goal of creating the ultimate sense of belonging and, ultimately, a sense of ownership. We work together and our unity is what makes us Ola!

“When I was in the Boy Scouts, I learned that you need three elements to build a fire: fuel, oxygen, and heat. At Ola High School, we have the ideal combination of parents, students, and faculty/staff that work as one for the support of our Mustangs.” Mr. Shedd, Former OHS Principal

    OHS pic Extracurriculars
Extracurricular activities are a great way for our students to shine. Our students’ talents are truly astonishing. Our athletic programs are top-notch, led by committed and hardworking staff; Ola is dedicated to the success of all of our student-athletes. Each year, we honor students who are able to go on to the collegiate level of athletic competition. In addition to our impressive athletic programs, we have a host of clubs and organizations for students, including the Fine Arts. Our Fine Arts programs include Ola Over Broadway, Marching Band, Spring Musical, Orchestra, and more. From the African American Studies club to the Yearbook, we are inclusive of all. Here at Ola High, there really is something for everyone!
“We know the value of giving places for students to ‘plug in.’ Students that are involved in sports, activities, clubs, and organizations at school are more likely to succeed. That place of belonging has powerful repercussions in a student’s academic career.” –Joe Caldwell, Graduation Coach

    • Georgia Student Health Survey Responses
    • Literacy Proficiency Rates

The Georgia Student Health Survey is given to all k-12 students in Georgia in the spring of each school year. It is composed of a variety of questions that help our district better understand the student experience in our schools. The literacy information is calculated as the percentage of students reading on or above grade level determined by scores on the Milestones End-of-grade assessments for 9th grade Literature and American Literature. The 4-year cohort graduation rate is also displayed on this dashboard. Each of these data components can be viewed for the previous three years. For more information about these measurements, please access the Ola High School website.
