  •  Highlights

The following school highlights are just a few of the things that make Dutchtown High School an amazing place to learn and grow! These four items should allow you to see the rigorous learning, diverse experiences, and supportive culture that exists in our school. In Henry County Schools, we believe in giving every student a high quality, world-class education and we believe these highlights display our passion and commitment to do just that.

    DHS picStudent Outcomes
Dutchtown High School is proud of our 2022 4-year cohort graduation rate of 91.0%! This graduation rate is in the top 3 in Henry County Schools and is above the HCS and State of Georgia averages for the 2022 cohort.

Although the state did not calculate a College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) for the 2020-2021 school year, we are confident in the continued trend of positive outcomes for our students. Just as our score increased 10 points on the last CCRPI calculation, our teachers and staff have continued to challenge, support, and enrich the education of our students to create a phenomenal high school experience here at DHS.

    DHS picStudent Opportunities
At Dutchtown High School, we believe in creating opportunities for our students that challenge, inspire, and provide room for their growth. We provide a variety of academic opportunities, including advanced placement and honors courses, dual enrollment courses, a wide range of exceptional fine arts programs, and a multitude of clubs for our students to join at DHS. One of the amazing opportunities at Dutchtown High School is our Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program. Over the past decade of service to our school and our community, our AFJROTC has distinguished itself in each year of operation by ranking near the top 20% as a distinguished unit or near the top 10% as a distinguished with merit unit out of some 870+ units nationwide! Our cadets are an exceptional group of students at DHS who seek to uphold our primary mission to develop citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community.

Our cadets serve our school and our community through a variety of community service opportunities and truly make our school and community a better place to be. We look forward to the continued accomplishments and accolades in the future from our AFJROTC program.

    DHS picClimate and Culture
Dutchtown High School is an amazing place to work and learn. We enjoy celebrating the accomplishments and hard work of both our staff and our students throughout the school year and making school an exciting and fun experience for our students. We celebrate together through student dances, celebrating homecoming week and kindness week, and cultural celebrations like Hispanic Heritage Month. Whether it is sidewalk art for kindness week, or donating items for our community, the Dutchtown Bulldogs find a way to make a difference for each other. A new addition to our student recognition for the 2021-2022 school year is our athletes of the week.

This program allows us to recognize student-athletes from each of our sports programs to recognize their hard work in both the classroom and on their team. We truly are focused on creating an environment where every student, staff member, and family feels supported and valued. We can’t wait to continue our pursuit of exceptional!

    DHS pic Extracurriculars
Dutchtown High School is well-known for our prowess and determination in athletics. We believe in creating an environment where our student-athletes can be challenged, learn to collaborate, and face challenges head on to become better all-around students. In recent years, we have had students sign athletic scholarships in football, baseball, tennis, and basketball, just to name a few. We consistently compete for region championships in both our male and female sports programs across all three sports seasons. As far as team accomplishments go, the ultimate stage is winning a state championship.

Our boys track team won a state championship in 2018 and consistently competes at the state level across all classifications. We are extremely proud of all of our student-athletes for their hard work and for our coaches who pour their time and energy into our bulldogs.

Student Outcomes information for Dutchtown High School represented on this dashboard includes:

    • 4-year cohort graduation rate
    • Georgia Student Health Survey Responses
    • Literacy Proficiency Rates

The Georgia Student Health Survey is given to all k-12 students in Georgia in the spring of each school year. It is composed of a variety of questions that help our district better understand the student experience in our schools. The literacy information is calculated as the percentage of students reading on or above grade level determined by scores on the Milestones End-of-grade assessments for 9th grade Literature and American Literature. The 4-year cohort graduation rate is also displayed on this dashboard. Each of these data components can be viewed for the previous three years. For more information about these measurements, please access the Dutchtown High School website.
