Stockbridge Middle School has shown phenomenal growth on the state’s accountability measure, the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). Although the state did not calculate this score during the pandemic due to testing difficulties, SMS had a 19.1-point increase in the most recent CCRPI when compared to the prior year! CCRPI scores were detailed in four areas – Content Mastery, Progress, Closing Achievement Gaps, and Readiness. Stockbridge Middle School improved in all four areas with the greatest growth shown in the area of Closing Achievement Gaps, which represented the growth our students made across all student subgroups at SMS. With an increase of 77.5 points from the prior year, Stockbridge Middle moved up to 92.9 points, outperforming both the district and state averages.

We also had a 17.2 point increase in progress, which is a measure of how much growth our students demonstrated in English language arts and mathematics, and how well our English learners are progressing toward English language proficiency. Due to our increase, we were recognized as a State of Georgia Reward School, which speaks to the various opportunities students have to achieve success. This year, our scholars showed continued growth and improvements as the school returned to full capacity.

Here at Stockbridge Middle School, we are Focused….Fearless...and Formidable! We are focused on restoring the roar, by engaging with and challenging each of our students to be their best. We enjoy celebrating with our school family during Hispanic Heritage Month and our annual homecoming week to celebrate tiger pride. At Stockbridge Middle, we also believe that recognition and celebration are an important part of school life, so we take every opportunity to celebrate and recognize our students and staff. The Georgia Student Health Survey is given to all k-12 students in Georgia in the spring of each school year. It is composed of a variety of questions that help our district better understand the student experience in our schools. The literacy information is calculated as the percentage of students reading on or above grade level determined by scores on the Milestones End-of-grade assessments for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade in English Language Arts. Each of these data components can be viewed for the previous three years. For more information about these measurements, please access the Stockbridge Middle School website.
