    WES picStudent Outcomes
We are proud of our Woodland Elementary Wolfpack and the hard work that they exhibit each day. Our students consistently achieve and grow at exceptional levels. For example, we ranked #1 for growth in Reading in the 2019-2020 school year among schools participating in HCS's Intensive Reading Model program. For the 2021-2022 school year, we have seen a 3% increase in academic achievement to pre-pandemic scores in the area of 3rd Grade Math on the Georgia End-of-Grade Milestones Assessment (GMAS) as well as a respectable 6% of students scoring in the Distinguished category in 4th Grade Math, 4th Grade ELA, and 5th Grade Math. We also saw wonderful growth on our Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment, which indicates the percentage of students reaching their MAP Reading Growth Goals. This percentage increased by 10% in the Spring 2022 administration. Additionally, the percentage of students reading on or above grade level in 3rd grade increased by 2% in the Spring 2022 administration, moving from 68% in 2019 to 70% in 2022.

We are even more excited that our percentage of students who met their reading growth goals is above the district average--in fact, our 4th grade students were 6% above the district average, and 100% of our 4th grade English Language Learners (ELL) met their reading goals.

Woodland Elementary School’s student outcomes information can be found on this dashboard. This information includes:

    • Georgia Student Health Survey Responses
    • Literacy Proficiency Rates

The Georgia Student Health Survey is given to all k-12 students in Georgia in the spring of each school year. It is composed of a variety of questions that help our district better understand the student experience in our schools. The literacy information is calculated as the percentage of students reading on or above grade level determined by scores on the Milestones End-of-Grade assessments for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade in English Language Arts. Each of these data components can be viewed for the previous three years. For more information about these measurements, please access the Woodland Elementary School website.
