Please take note of the following important announcements:
Absences:
If your child misses school, please provide a doctor's note or handwritten note explaining the reason for the absence on the first day your child returns.
Bell Schedule:
Students should be in their seats by 7:45 a.m. Students walking in as or after the 7:45 am bell are tardy and must be accompanied by an adult to complete the late check-in. Our school day ends at 2:25 pm.
Cafeteria Fees:
Breakfast and lunch will be free for all students during the 2021-2022 school year. Parents should complete the online application in the parent portal or request a paper application from the school. Ice cream is sold in the cafeteria daily. Students are allowed to purchas ice cream for $1 or $1.50 during lunch.
Check-Outs:
To ensure the safe and orderly dismissal of all students, there will be no check outs between 2:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Monday Folder:
Please review and sign your child's Monday folder each week.
Parent Portal:
Visit Infinite Campus regularly to view your child's grades, attendance, update your contact info and individuals authorized to check your student out. New families should contact the front office for your portal activation code.
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Parents are encouraged to contact the teacher to schedule a parent-teacher conference.
P.E.:
Students will visit the gym for P.E. on . Crocs, sandals, boots, shoes with slippery soles or without backs will not be allowed in the gym. For safety reasons, students wearing unapproved shoes will have to sit out during P.E.
PBIS:
Fairview Elementary is a Positive Behavioral Intervintions and Supports School. We encourage positive behaviors by teaching a social-emotional learning curriculum (Second Step) and developing a clear expectations and rewards system. Please visit our school website for more information. Parents and/or guardians have the option of reinforcing the Second Step Curriculum with the use of home links. They are available in English and Spanish for all grades levels served at Fairview Elementary.
School supplies and classroom wishlist:
Each student will need 5 sewn-in composition books, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, a pencil box/pouch, glue sticks, scissors and erasers. Additional supplies may be requested throughout the year to complete projects and special activities. We are always in need of paper towels, tissue, hand soap, hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes. Please replinish supplies as needed.
Snack Time:
Students have the option to bring a healthy individual snack to eat in class each day. Please refrain from sending messy items or packaging that students cannot open or close on their own.
Student iPads:
All students have access to student learning devices. Students should bring the iPads to school fully charged each day. Replacement chargers can be purchased through Myschoolbucks.com. Please contact your child's teacher to report any damage to the device.
Transportation Changes:
All requests to change the way that a student usually goes home must be made in writing by the enrolling parent. Please include specific dates, and instructions to explain any change to the way your child will go home. Phone calls, face-to-face conversations, emails, social media, Class Dojo, and or text messages cannot be accepted as a change of transportation request. Change of transportation notes must be recieved in the front office by noon.
