    Membership Requirements

Delta Epsilon Phi is a national organization which is overseen by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG). To have an active chapter, a school must be an accredited public or private high school and the group sponsor must be a member of AATG.

Basic student requirements are provided by AATG. In addition, the WHS chapter requires that students participate in activities throughout the year to qualify for an honor cord at graduation.

    Academic Requirements:
    • To be eligible, a student must have completed three semesters of German.
    • The student must have attained an average of 3.6 in German and a 3.0 general average in these three semesters, on a 4.0 scale. Individual schools may set additional requirements.
The grade averages provided are on the 4.0 scale. For WHS, where we are on the 100 point scale (percentages), we have converted to the following requirements:
    Average in German: 3.6 = 92%
    Overall high school average: 3.0 = 85%
