• Alcohol & Drug Awareness (ADAP) Certificate

Stockbridge HighWhat is the ADAP certificate?

By law, Georgia teens under the age of 18 are required to successfully complete ADAP in order to obtain their Class D Georgia driver’s license. In most cases, teens are able to complete ADAP through their high school. In some instances, however, teens may not be able to complete ADAP through their high school. This is especially true of teens that are home-schooled, have moved to Georgia from another state, or were absent from school when the classroom course was offered. In the past, these teens have relied exclusively on “make-up” classes taught by instructors certified by the DDS at various locations around the state. Teens that are unable to complete ADAP through their high school have two options, both of which are free of charge.
     Stockbridge HighWho Can Apply?
An ADAP card is required to test for a driver's license.  Students receive their ADAP card after their successful completion of the Alcohol and Drug Awareness program through their health class.
Stockbridge HighWhat if my student has lost the ADAP certificate?
If you took ADAP through SHS, you will need to request a replacement certificate from the front office.  A charge of $2 will be required when you sign up. Return to the office the following day to pick up the printed certificate.
If you took the course online through eADAP or at another school, you will need to contact them for a replacement. SHS does not have access to print an ADAP that originated at a location other than SHS.
