• Standard: ACCT-ADDI 1 Students will identify components related to the design process.

I can statements for the students: “I can name the parts of a community. I can design a city including a residential and commercial area. I can decide what structures are appropriate for commercial and residential use.”

    Box City Program:

The students were able to discuss, explain, and demonstrate the importance of a city’s layout. They designed structures to fit the needs of their communities while carefully considering the need for  residential, commercial and recreational/public buildings. Students then created and placed their buildings on a city grid to create their “box city”. They voted on a name for their city, created a professional sports team, and even designed a brochure inviting visitors. It may have been chaotic in the making, but the completed city was fantastic!
