Coach Major A. Wilkerson

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!  It is an exciting time for teachers as well as students as we begin our work to ensure a successful and rewarding year.

My name is Coach Major A. Wilkerson, and I am excited about beginning my fourth year as the physical education teacher at Pate’s Creek Elementary School.  I have over 22 years of teaching experience. I received my Bachelor of Science in Sports and Fitness Studies from Brewton-Parker College, where I was a member of the baseball team. I earned my Master of Science and Kinesology degree from Georgia Southern University and I received my Education Specialist in Leadership from Columbus State University. 

I am married and we have three wonderful children. I enjoy playing golf, Braves baseball, college football, and coaching my children.  

Physical activity and fitness reinforces developmental skills such as fine motor coordination, hand-eye coordination, agility, flexibility, endurance, nutrition, sportsmanship, teamwork, and living a healthy lifestyle.
