Ms. Priscilla Ray, Ed.S.
It is with great pleasure that Ms. Ray joins the administrative team to serve the students, parents, and stakeholders of the Stockbridge High School community. As a committed educator with more than 16 years of experience, she believes in creating a culture and climate that nurtures the whole child. She believes every student can reach their full potential with the right support.
Ms. Ray is a native of Warner Robins, Georgia. She is considered a non-traditional educator, as she attended Augusta University in 2005 to earn her teaching certification by completing a post-baccalaureate program. She started her teaching career in Waynesboro, GA at Burke County High School where she taught high school English. Throughout her seven years of teaching high school English, Ms. Ray was honored to be a part of the staff at various high schools in Georgia, where she earned experience with co-taught, honors, and yearbook classes. During these years, she served as a 9th-grade PLC lead, PBIS, and leadership team member.
In year eight of her career, she transitioned to serve the Fayette County High School community. For seven years, she served as their Intervention Specialist, PBIS Coach, and Literacy Chair. During this period of her career, she sharpened her leadership skills by providing professional development at the school, district, and state levels. During her tenure, she helped implement a school-wide literacy program, which assisted the school in its goal of increasing its students' literacy skills. Working with a team, she created a model PBIS and RtI program at the high school level that helped the school earn the recognition of the Student Support Team Association of Georgia (Sstage), which afforded the school the opportunity to win the Promising Star Award in 2018 and 2022.
In 2022, she joined Stockbridge High School as their Graduation Coach. During her first year in that position, she assisted the school in raising its graduation rate. While working as the Graduation Coach, she served on the MTSS, PBIS, and Leadership teams. Committed to staying engaged with teachers and the curriculum, Ms. Ray volunteered to provide district-wide professional development to the English teachers of Henry County in 2023 and 2024, which focused on supporting the district’s literacy initiatives.
Ms. Ray holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Service Administration (Macon State University), Teaching Certification in Secondary Education with an emphasis on Secondary English (Augusta University), a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (Georgia Southern University), MTSS Coordinator Endorsement (Griffin RESA), and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership (Augusta University).
Ms. Ray comes from a long line of educators, as many of her uncles and aunts spent their careers serving students in the classroom or coaching them in a sport. She is a part of a second generation of educators in her family, continuing the legacy. She has a strong commitment to education and lifelong learning. She works passionately to ensure students see themselves with the same potential that she sees within them. Not far removed from the classroom, the development and retention of educators is dear to her heart.
Ms. Ray moved to Henry County in 2014 and continues to call the area her home.
