Overview
Hello and welcome to the class. All assignments and reading will be posted on the Google Classroom for your specific class. For help with google classroom, getting there or using the platform, just email me and I'll walk you through it.
I have lived in Decatur, GA the majority of my life, and graduated from Emory University in 2010 with High Honors in English. In 2011, I received my Master’s degree in English Education, and in 2024 I received my Doctorate of Education from Kennesaw State. I have taught at Kell High School, Campbell Middle School, Dutchtown High School, and Stockbridge High School. My area of focus is British and American Literature, but I have a strong background in contemporary literature and mythology as well. I am the department chair of the ELA department as well, so if you have any questions about other ELA courses offered at the school, feel free to reach out.
If you need to get in contact with me for whatever reason, I can be reached at the email address at the bottom of the page. If you want to talk over the phone, just email me to request a phone call. I am typically quick with emails, but I appreciate your patience in getting back to you during the day. Also, (for parents) if your child is not performing at the level you expect of them, please contact me as soon as possible so that we can work on strategies to improve his or her performance early as opposed to later in the semester. I will do my best to let you know if your student has been missing work or needs improvement in certain areas, but as soon as we get in touch, the better. I am looking forward to next year and working together to make it a great one!
