My name is Corletha Varian and I am both honored and delighted to join East Lake Elementary as the assistant principal! I have been in the field of education for over 13 years. During that time, I served students as an educator, district coach, and now my current role as assistant principal. I began my career in New York where I worked as a teacher in a private school. In 2012, I transferred to Henry County, GA where I taught both 3rd and 4th grade. In 2016, I was named Teacher of the Year and accepted a district coach position. As a coach, I effectively served 9 schools and facilitated professional development at both district and national levels. My experience as a district coach and participation in the Henry County Schools A.S.P.I.R.E leadership program provided me with the skills and knowledge for this current position as a building administrator. My mission is to build strong relationships with educational stakeholders and serve all students with equitable practices that ensure high achievement.
In my spare time, I like to travel, bargain shop, and go on adventures with my amazing husband of 13 years and our dynamic 4 sons.
