• Dear Theatre Arts Parents and Students of Stockbridge High School:

I would like to personally welcome those new to the program and a great big welcome back to those returning.  This year and every year will be exciting for everyone involved, from students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, community volunteers, and our sponsors. At Stockbridge, the theatre arts program teaches the Georgia of Excellence Standards for theatre as well as current entertainment industry standards. We cover public speaking, creative development, OSHA safety, union vs non-union, professionalism, and work-readiness to name a few transferable skills students will learn. However, the learning experience will continue beyond the classroom.

Stockbridge High has a drama club under the International Thespian Society, and we are Troupe #6312.  All students who meet satisfactory grades and satisfactory conduct in all classes are eligible to join the drama club, but there are requirements and mandatory dues to become an ITS troupe member. Drama club members will travel to competitions to compete for college scholarships and other awards. Athletic, health, and permission forms must be filled out by a parent or legal guardian for students to travel. Therefore, it is important to read everything on the site to make sure your student has everything they need to meet the requirements.

On the following links, there are forms including special request forms such as recommendation letters to colleges, talent agencies, or other programs. I encourage all students to enroll in a summer program that focuses on their career goals. For students interested in acting and/or technical aspect of the entertainment industry, there are summer program options in Georgia. Although students will learn many things at Stockbridge High, continuing education in various forms is vital for young industry professionals.
