Easter Island is located 2,350 miles west of Chile, in the South Pacific Ocean. Easter Island is mainly made up of three volcanoes (the highest reaching 538 m, or 1,756 ft.). The craters are separated by low plains. The volcanoes are extinct. The climate there is subtropical. The average annual temperature is 22 degrees Celsius. The precipitation level is 1,015mm (40 inches) a year.
