Vultures

The turkey vulture can be found from southern Canada to southern South America. Its body length is about 27 to 32 inches, and the wingspan is about 7 to 10 ½ feet.  The turkey vulture usually weighs about 20 pounds.   If a vulture can't find carrion within three days it will become desperate and start looking for food to kill.  Black vultures are found from southern U.S. and to southern South America. Their body length measures up to about 23 to 29 inches, their wingspan is about 6 to 8½ feet, and they weigh around 16 pounds. They eat dead cattle, sheep, ground squirrels, deer, and horses. At zoos the vulture's diet foods are dead rats and mice, fish, and the meat of large animals such as sheep and goats.
