Ms. Jones' Value Promise
I am proud to be a native Henry Countian! My ancestors were among the original twelve families who emigrated and homesteaded in Henry County in the 1820s. Although I have lived in Henry County most of my life, I graduated from Morrow High School where I had the opportunity to play basketball for the finest basketball coach in the state of Georgia, A.C. McCullers. Coach McCullers is now heading up the Varsity girl’s basketball program at Union Grove High School. I hold an A.A. in Education from Reinhardt College, a B.A. in History from Mercer University, and a M.Ed. and Ed.S. from State University of West Georgia in Administration and Supervision.
I have been an educator for 24 years, eighteen of which were spent teaching middle and high school social studies. It is my belief that a career in education is the most rewarding and important job in our society today! Six years ago, I was appointed assistant principal at Pate’s Creek Elementary. I spent two years there before being appointed assistant principal at Luella Middle School in 2002.
My hobbies and interests include reading, traveling, camping, collecting antiques and historical memorabilia. I have hiked the Grand Canyon from north rim to south rim and I spent an entire summer retracing the Lewis and Clark Trail in Montana and Idaho on foot and by canoe. I have also spent several summers out west studying Native American history and culture. One of my favorite pastimes, however, is to watch the Tennessee Lady Volunteer basketball team either on TV or in person!
