Ola Middle School

Mentor Program

What is Mentoring?

OMS is establishing a program of volunteers who will act as mentors to designated students.  The mentor will spend approximately 45-60 minutes a week with a designated OMS student.  During this time the mentor will provide the young person with friendship, assistance, and a positivive role model.

What will the Mentor do?

Volunteers who participate in the program will...

  • Attend a training session
  • Complete a background check through the Henry County Sheriff's department
  • Meet regularly with the assigned student and provide educational encouragement
  • Be a positive role model

Please consider this...

A hundred years from now

It will not matter

What my bank account was,

The sort of house I lived in,

The kind of clothes I wore,

The world may be different because

I was important

in the

Life of a child

OMS students need your help!
