I am happy to be here at Ola Middle School.  This is my 14th year as an educator. I began my teaching career at my Alma Mater, Skyline High School, in Scottsboro, Alabama. While at Skyline High School, I taught a variety of subjects including Health, Physical Education, and English.  I coached girl’s varsity and junior high basketball and softball as well as boy’s basketball.   I also served the school as the Athletic Trainer.

I have taught in three facilities in Henry County.  Most recently I taught at Flippen Elementary (2 years) and Pate’s Creek Elementary (1 year).  When I moved to McDonough in the Fall of 2001, I joined the staff at Henry County High where I served as the Athletic Trainer for all athletic activities as well as a teacher in the PE department.

I played basketball in college at Snead State Community College in Boaz, AL and the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.  My basketball career ended in 1983 after the second of four knee surgeries.  I obtained a B.S. in Education in English, Physical Education, and Health from Athens State University in Athens, Alabama.  I received my Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, AL.

I reside in McDonough and have a wonderful partner, Michael.  We do not have children; however, we have 3 nephews and one niece. My mother, father, and brother’s family reside in Scottsboro, AL and I have a sister and nephew who reside in Warner Robins, GA.

I sincerely look forward to working with your children in the classroom as well as in the athletic department.
