Welcome to Ola Middle School's Georgia Studies Web Site.
What we're learning:
The third six weeks covers Georgia from the Colonial period through early statehood. We will be examining Georgia as a Royal Colony, the events leading to the American Revolution, Influential Georgians of the colonial period, Georgia's role in the American Revolution, Georgia's Constitution of 1777, westward expansion in Georgia
following the Revolution, and the resulting
removal of Native Americans, and
Georgia's role at the Constitutional
Convention of 1787. A detailed
