Welcome to Ola Middle School!  It is an honor to serve with such an outstanding faculty and staff.  I am looking forward to working with the students of OMS.

I was born and raised in Louisiana.  After graduating from New Iberia Sr. High School, I enlisted in the United States Air Force.  I attained the rank of Staff Sergeant as an Air-Evacuation Medic attached to the 815th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base, MS.  Following my 5 years of military service, I enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi and earned a B.S. degree in Sport Administration and Human Performance in 1994.   I taught Behavior Modification, Social Skills, Biology, and Anatomy at 2 different high schools in Mississippi before marrying my beautiful wife, the former Christy Lott.  My 2 sons, Cade (7) and Cullen (5) were both born in Meridian, MS.  While in Meridian, I taught science and served as grade level and department chair for 4 of the 6 years at Northwest Jr. High.  I also coached football, soccer, track and golf at Meridian High School.

I moved to Henry County in the summer of 2002.  I have spent the last 5 years teaching collaborative, honors, and AP Biology, as well as, coaching football and golf at Union Grove High School.  I received my Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University in 2006.  I will complete my Specialists degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University next summer.

I feel very fortunate to have such a rewarding job – motivating, mentoring, and inspiring young people.  “Whatever It Takes!”
