The Reclassification Committee of the GHSA has approved moving Eagle's Landing High School from Region 4-AAAA to 4-AAA, and moving Dutchtown High School from 4-AAA to 4-AAAA. This move was necessitated because Henry County School District cannot build schools fast enough to accomodate the number of people moving into the county. The School Board has had to revise procedures several times in regard to attendance zones for new and existing schools.
Dutchtown was classified on a projected enrollment that placed them in AAA. The new, more accurate projections place the enrollment in 2006-07 at 1565, which is in the AAAA range. At the same time, Eagle's Landing High School was classified on a projection that place them in AAAA. The new projection for 2006-07 is 1125, which is in the AAA range.
Both of these schools submitted thier football schedules to me, and I determined that the change would not negatively affect the schools involved. I am including a copy of those schedules. The schools are geographically close to one another, so other school affected by the swap should not have a concern.
